Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is proud to be one of the Forté Foundation’s 60+ partner MBA schools. The Forté Foundation is a non-profit consortium of multinational corporations and business schools that was founded to address inequity in business.

As a Forté Foundation partner, Carey Business School is among a select group of schools and corporations supporting Forte’s mission to advance women in business and expand opportunities for women seeking MBAs and graduate business education at every stage in their careers.

Being a partner school, Carey has the opportunity to engage with prospective students at various stages in their application journey and provide professional development opportunities for our current students.

A key initiative of the Forté partnership is the Forté Fellowship, which allows Carey to recognize students demonstrating exemplary leadership and a commitment to advancing women in business through scholarship funds. Forté Fellowships are competitive awards and reflect the school’s longstanding investment in educating and empowering women for future business leadership roles. Students named as Forté Fellows receive scholarship funding ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 per year and can be combined with other scholarship funding.

In addition to the fellowship, Forté organizes conferences, career fairs, and leadership training programs throughout the year for partner schools and their students. These opportunities create a supportive community for women in business and work to address gender equality in MBA programs and the business world.

Each June, Forté hosts its MBA Women’s Leadership Conference, a two-day conference specifically for incoming MBA students. Carey covers the registration fee for our incoming Forté Fellows to attend, and this year Carey had two new students attend: Camila Godoy, an incoming MBA student and Anika Mistry, an incoming MBA/Bachelor’s in Engineering student.

Godoy: “The Forté Conference was a life-changing event that prepared me to start my MBA journey. There were a lot of things I didn’t know I had to start doing and the conference gave me the info to get a head start.”

Mistry: “Forté was an amazing way to meet like-minded women also starting their MBA journey, while also getting a taste of career options post-MBA. Learning more about industries and fields I hadn’t considered previously as well as hearing from women C-suite executives, was an inspiring start to my MBA.”

As a Forté partner school, incoming and current Carey students have the opportunity to attend some of the following Forté events throughout the year:

MBA Launch
An eight-month program that provides a structured plan and supportive community to candidates who are applying to graduate school in the coming year. The program begins in early spring with MBA Launch Symposiums held in various domestic cities. This past year, Carey attended the MBA Launch Symposium in Boston, MA and Washington, D.C., where members of our Admissions team participated in an admissions panel and roundtable discussions of hot topics. Carey provides an application fee waiver for anyone who successfully completes the MBA Launch program.

Leadership Conferences

  • MBA Women’s Leadership Conference: A two-day conference specifically for incoming MBA students. The pre-MBA conference helps students develop standout skills, explore career paths, and build an authentic leadership style. Carey covers the cost of the registration fee for incoming women to attend.
  • Women of Color Symposium: A pre-conference symposium dedicated to empowering MBA women of color through conversations, panel discussions, and exclusive networking opportunities. Students must be registered for the MBA Women’s Leadership Conference to qualify.
  • Financial Services FAST Track Conference: A conference for incoming MBA students to discuss all financial career possibilities, hear from women leaders in the financial services industry, and create meaningful connections with peers from other business schools. Carey covers the registration fee.
  • MBA Campus Leadership Summit: This free event geared towards current student leaders who are driving gender equity work provides opportunities to network with peers, enhance leadership skills, and gain insights from other individuals who are committed to seeing women in leadership.

Forté Forums
A series of free, in-person and virtual, multi-city events held annually for prospective students to connect with admissions representatives, hear from successful women MBAs, and expand their network. Prospective students can learn what an MBA can do for their careers, connect with business schools, explore MBA opportunities, and expand their networks.

Members of Carey’s Admissions team will participate in all 10 of Forte’s in-person events in North America and four of Forté’s virtual forums. Our Admissions team will also attend Forté’s Diversity Day, which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia this October.
