The Summer Business Academy at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is a 10-day program designed to inspire the next generation of business leaders.

Tailored for rising college juniors and seniors interested in exploring graduate business education, this experience offers a firsthand look at the skills and mindset needed for success in today’s business world.

Participants of SBA grow key leadership skills, unlock personal and professional growth through hands-on, real-life industry challenges, and will also get a glimpse of what the MBA program at Carey is truly like. The curriculum combines case competitions, hands-on consulting projects with local businesses, and roundtable discussions with Carey alumni and industry experts.

“My goal was to challenge myself by engaging in a rigorous program that included a case competition and pitch competition—experiences that were new to me and outside my comfort zone,” said Joanna Wakama, an SBA alum and current participant in Carey’s Leadership Development Program. “The Summer Business Academy emphasized the critical role of networking in professional success–I learned how to effectively engage and build connections within the business world. This program allowed me to connect with a diverse network of driven peers and professionals and establish lifelong friendships that I still value today.”
